my first photo in the sports gallery! and don't worry, probably the last one too ;)

i know i'm not a sports photographer, but i do want to get better at it and most of all right now i wanted to share this...moment, this experience. i love this sport. it's mixed martial arts; fighting that mixes several styles and has fairly little ruless. in this picture, the other guy is choking the other, and as a sign of giving up, the other is 'tapping out', which means tapping the floor 3 times. and because of that, the judge has stepped in to stop the fight.

as i said, this is probably my only submission in the sports category, so i expect you to hold back possible complains of not liking this type of material from me, this is important to me and the damage is already done ;) however criticism at the photo is fine alltho i know the technical issues...but maybe you have something to add :)

these guys are Pekka Rantala vs Thomas Valentin, at Cage 5: Winter War.

Nice! I love that sport, I've seen local fights here. I was gonna give it a shot and see how wing chun went up against muay thai...but to quote a friend "nah, I'm too old to be gettin' hit in the face that much". Such an excellent spectator sport, on TV or ringside. Great shot m'dear! I once got some great ones at a WWF event here in Dublin but I never managed to find them again :-(

i love how the judge's touch looks so gentle.. with the gloves and all.:D (the guy in the suit in the background looks a bit funny too.. )

i think it's great that you try different things, those kinds of experiments are what allows us to grow. and you sure caught a great moment.

GREAT PHOTO :heart: sporty are always very sexy :D :D

but the picture reminds me of a friend who broke his leg recently because another guy ran into him while playing football :(
