i took this some while ago... in the spring. i realize this migt not please everyone, the world is not perfect
 i was inspired by a photo/painting by Jan Saudek in which a woman sits in profile to the camera pointing a gun into her mouth. she was also pregnant. it's been on my wall for like 5 years now and the theatrical setting of it is not my style but it's always intrigued me. what i hope the image would do, is to first cause a reaction in the viewer because she was killing her baby, and secondly the realization that she'll be killing herself too. then the question "why?" "is it worth it?". that's what it does for me anyway, if anything. i had planned it to be a painful photo, and i will post some of the other canditates in scraps, as in the end i needed to choose between desperation, pain and determination. i ended up with what i see as determination, very decisive moment. that does not exlude pain or desperation though, i just think we are past that. one could skip determination, but her, she might be crazy, i don't know what is it. she is the lovely Ako and this shot is taken in the basement of her building. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
