Artist's Comments

i rarely have such a difficult time to pick 'the shot' from the set, and yet this is not my 'most important shoot ever'. maybe it was the different objectives. i wanted to take photos of her (a classic beauty :faint:), smoking, kind of 'classic' smoking shot, if you will. however when it came the time to shoot, she told me about trying to quit smoking and she'd decided that she'd try now, as i would capture her last cigarette, it would be a very impressive way to quit. so i had to pick between 'moods', the classic mood and the 'last one' mood, and i picked the latter because of this important event.

i've always liked to photograph smoking. it's not healthy but i certainly wouldn't preach about it. i don't smoke, exept in special occasions, but it's kind of indifferent to me, i won't get hooked.

so here's Eerika and her last cigarette.

Your are right she is a natural beauty, I also wish her luck with quiting. I can tell you its hard, but worth it in the long run of life.

awesome that it truly was her last, and you captured it forever. Tis is a very graceful picture.....This is similar to a shot I have wanted to try myself....beautiful

She seems very aloof and yet self-aware. A blood drenched woman could crawl into the room and die and she'd possibly raise an eyebrow.

ohh this is so sassy and sexual. Love the way you can see the smoke just floating off... brilliant photo!

I stopped smoking three weeks ago, go me! And I havent missed it at all n_n

this still has something ver classical to it, I like the way it's focused, you can even see her pores! Her hands kinda look like mine, I also love pictures of people smoking. It will always remind me of 'breakfast at tiffany's' and Audrey Hepburn's flaming style :)

hmm, that sounds like a good idea actually... lol ;)

i'd like to see some more smoke, it really would help that big black void between the hand and face. but she's really beautiful, her expression really makes this shot :) you've captured both feelings, i think, the classic and the 'last one' thing. great!

I always wanted to do a "smoking shot" but I can't really capture the smoke :\
Beautiful shot, by the way... a bit melancholic :)
