a collab by me and kev. clearly the lighting is his signature as the concept or style is mine. this is one of those true collabs though where we both put our ideas and skills to play in all of the aspects.

i like the title cos it reminds me of the HIM song, although i'm not the biggest HIM fan out there, i have a soft spot for them and used to listen to thim especially when i was younger.

This was the first collaboration between +suzi9mm and me. It was a collab in every sense of the word. We had been talking for months about doing this series of photos, ever since she decided that she was coming to Canada. My job was to come up with lighting and +suzi9mm with concept and style, although we both had input into each others' contributions to the project. Lighting was very tricky, as we were both in the shot, and there were so many things I wanted to highlight, while retaining the dramatic feel of the shot. I eventually settled on a softbox high and behind us to the right of the frame, and a spotlight behind and to the left. These lights emphasize curves and textures. The cool tone is produced by a color temperature shift in the processing of the RAW file.
