i would describe this as cheap, gothy, and...pretty fuckin sweet. feel free to throw in the good old 'the blood theme is old and overused!" -line, i'll give you a smile for that. i'm loving the blood theme =P this photo doesn't change the world, it's just entertainment, please enjoy if you can.


umm, so, yea. the vampire teeth were cool, she'd had those made at the dentist so they looked very real and fit her perfectly. my 'preview audience' was torn between those who liked the 'cracked & dry' lips, and those who didn't. i'm obviously all for it, that's why they're there, make me think she's old and dead even if pretty.

technical: used sigma 105mm ex macro lens (and the sweet focus proves that), white make up foundation on face and hand as well as white powder, those as well as fake blood can be acquired at theatre supply stores or similar. more about artificial fakebloods here [link] . white nail polish by LCN.

simply fantastic make up work :) the lighting is so even and perfect, and the focussing is sweet. Do you do most of your portrait work with the sigma? Im still looking for a decent lens for that purpose, there are way too many reviews on the net ;) Anyway, the low angle is perfect - gives a slight sense of dominance, in contrast to the high key tones. The cracked lips and blood really make the image, providing a juxtaposition between ugliness and sheer beauty.

Oh, and by the way, Im all for the blood themes ;)
