dead series 7 by suzi9mm

i killed ^hesitation

some of you might know i ended this series with #10. however i knew long ago that i need to redo some of the shots to be able to call it a series and to be able to look at it as a whole. i'm not trying to actually reshoot the photos that i'm replacing, they are wrong in every way so i'm replacing them with totally new ideas.

some of you will not like this. this kind of stuff actually happens and it's sad, i just happen to have a need to present it in my way. i'm not saying this is 100% real looking as reality doesn't look this "pretty". it's just a photo but i do hope it evokes feelings, perhaps controversial ones.

Q: what do you use for blood?
A: different types of fake bloods that can be bought from a theatre supplies store, brands such as Kryolan. the wound on the neck is done with wax by Kryolan specifically for that purpose.

---less important shit----
this is inspired by the scene in Braveheart (the girl in the beginning gets her throat cut).

i had to shoot this twice, i screwed up the first round. that put me down pretty bad but i am happy i decided to try again. lots of things seemed to be against me in the 2nd shoot too; it started to rain, and right when i was starting to shoot, Hesi felt like she would faint and i had to untie her and then obviously put her back. both of these in a way worked to my advantage too, the wet hair is kinda cool and the water messed up the blood…very ‘real life’ incident. often my shots tend to be too clean compared to reality, and now i got more mess that i could've ever asked for. i actually had to clean it up quite a bit in PS and now i think i’m happy with it… choosing the right shot was difficult (look out for the scraps section for the others)...but this is a basic angle, shows the lonely forest, relaxed face, lips, the dress that's barely on her, the cut on the neck  while doing the PS work I had a good long while to think how it feels when life is draining out of you, the terror is overwhelming mind and consciousness is slipping out of your hands. warm liquid going down the skin, along your clothes, spreading, and at some point you can’t feel it anymore and it’s all black. you legs were shaking but not anymore. your hands were trying to get free but they relax now. fucking sad.

a big thanks goes to my very brave model Hesi, for obvious reasons…

bus and subway tickets to and in Toronto: 12€ / $
night gown from a second hand store: 2,5€ / $
electrical cord: 3,5€ / $
extra bottle of fake blood (Cinema Secrets): 4€ / $
getting dirty, wet and bloody in the forest: priceless

Thanks for posting, a pretty intense scene compared to the usual Halloween type shot. Interesting to see that scene in "Braveheart" was the inspiration, too, there's been a couple of models I know that have wanted to do a scene along those lines also.

do you like to try a strangulation sequence where a victim is strangulated to death by unknown and invisible murderer lots of struggle with hands and feet by victim but of no use.Victim dies with open mouth, rolled up eyes, tongue coming out of mouth, legs and hands spread awkwardly. Then some one finds body checks it for vital signs ie wrist pulse jugular vein pulse, eye balls for response to light, heart beat, breathing finding no indication of life closes eyes of victim, try to close mouth a bit, straighten hands and legs ,tie both feet toes together with a bandage, tie a bandage from under chin through head to keep mouth possibly closed and put some cloth on body to cover leaving face and feet visible. Then in morgue body laying on dissection table with toe tag.then ready to be buried in casket.you can skip the things you do not want to do or dislike.

I saw this shot a couple of years ago when I was using a different account, and I forgot to favorite it then. I am very pleased to have found it, so I can finally add it to my favorites. This is beautiful. Sad, but terribly beautiful.

What attracted my eye to the thumbnail of this was the cord around her. It makes the dress and the blood and everything else more effective for me. Is that an electrical cord?

(Feeling like a stalker with all my comments >.< )

This picture makes me all sentimental. Im a 1200-1800 fan. I like those times.
When I saw this picture - I immediatley saw a whole scene in front of me of a bunch of cruel men capturing an innocent woman.
Either she had been blamed for witchcraft and they were going to take care of her theirselves - or they were just bored and felt like having some 'fun' with a passer-by.
But it could also be something more than just a 'normal' woman since her dress seems to be very nice, neat an expesive..
But the result was still you picture.

I have a vivid imagination - sorry about that ^^'

It's a very beautiful, speaking picture with so many possible stories behind it.

At least, I think so ^_^

Amazing! Absolutely amazing!
Some people pointed out some of the non-realistic apects of this photograph, and I can't talk back and argue that it looks real, 'cause they might be right there. But when you think about it, it doesn't really spoil anything if it looks real or not. This is art, and art is meant to make people feel something and think, it's not meant to be confused with reality. This doesn't mean a picture cannot relate to reality of course.

I really like it. I see what you want to make people feel, and I definitely feel it, too. The single tear on her ckeek is damn convincing! She seems to relaxed, and then there it this one tear... That detail plus the fact that her face doesn't have a single scratch is telling me that she was pretty okay with it, it doesn't look like she's been in a fight in any way. It's like she knew she were going to die, and she just accepted the facts. Maybe she had a deathwish? Or maybe the murderer convinced her that death was the last resort or the only hope? I don't know... But that is something special and unique about this photo.
About the blood on her lips... Well, to me it looks like the murderer wanted her to taste her own blood just before she died, and so he dipped his finger in her blood and put it on her lips, and he said: "Here, taste your own blood, taste your near death - it's closer than you think." Like he wanted her to be prepared to die. Wow.
Also, the blood is controlled. It's not spurted or sprayed, it seems like it just leaked out and covered the body, silently and peacefully, which contrasts the murder and the actual brutality in a bloody scenario like this. All in all a very peaceful and beautiful death scene. I love it!

In short: I agree with everyone that loves this picture, and I disagree with everyone hating it.

I'm sorry, but I don't have anything negative/critical to say about it. It looks like you've considered every little detail. Perfectionism, that's all. I've even put the picture on my wishlist for christmas :)

great concept, i love it!! braveheart is the best. i have a friend who has a night once a month with as many people as he can get and watched it in a kilt haha.
critique wise i just think her head should bemore limp, she looks on the brink of death rather than dead, unless of course thats the effect you wanted. love the visible pressure and tension on the skin from the ropes!
