...with black background.

i was adviced by this pro photographer on how to shoot glass objects but to be honest i only remember somethign vague, but today i tried my best as i made the mistake of shooting a 'glass object' again. if you can, avoid em. this 'how to' tutorial is not the best one ever, i'm sure there are better ways that give better results, but this is what i manages to to day and my guess is there are people that know even less than me so maybe i can help out just a bit by showing this.

everything light reflects from glass. you might not notice it when u shoot but in the finished photo it separates the good from the shit. :P i recall the pto photographer advicing me to use blck on the sides of the object...but now i'm wondering if that was with white bg photos only (because with white bg, the glass easily blends in the white and it's not good, just see my deviation 'dissolving life', where i suffer from that). anyhow what's done it done.

i admit (and as you see from the raw finished photo in the tutorial pic) i couldn't manage without the reflections either. but i minimized them and then photoshopped the rest.

98% of deviantArt members have useless junk about smoking pot in their signature. If you're one of the 2% who doesn't give a damn, copy and paste this into your signature.
the subject has already been done by students of Fabrica [link] ... they have done a close to perfect job.
They focused on the object inside the jar not the glass of the jar.

Anyway like your shots :)
